Some people see the word ‘blog’ and stray away because they think it only means one thing: people documenting their days. In rare cases, people can have entertaining stories and lives. However, most of the time, this is not the case.
If you think about anyone or a website you follow, whether it be on social media, YouTube, or subReddits, they keep you coming back because you are either being entertained, learning something, or both. What keeps you coming back to a website or ongoing story is important to recognize. Sometimes you may even need to reassess why you come back to websites habitually.
In the past few months, I have watched a lot of YouTube that’s centered around gaming videos. I watched these videos primarily for entertainment, but they started to get stale recently. Even though they got stale, I still continued to watch these videos because they were a way to procrastinate, and escape responsibilities, even if it was only temporary escape. Since recognizing this, I have stopped watching YouTube videos related to gaming by cutting it out of my daily habits.
However, I still watch some other YouTube videos. The one thing these other videos have in common is the opportunity to learn.
After reading many blogs extensively in the past year, I’ve found that the word ‘blog’ has slowly been redefined to be a center of learning. This is also how I plan to treat my blog: a center of learning.
Even if you’re no longer in school, learning is key to your development as a person. People think that once you graduate college, there’s no reason to learn anything new that does not directly relate to your job. Even if you are still in college, the course material you learn in classes is not enough to set you apart from everyone else. College should only be a supplement to your drive to learn. You need to be learning every single day to succeed in life.
My overarching goal for everything on this blog is to add value, or teach something, to the reader. In addition, I don’t want to bring you mediocre content. My promise to you is that I will bring you the highest quality content.
