I’m a digital marketing strategist focused on data analyzation, lead generation, and process automation and optimization. This includes conducting design sprints (2.0), creating channel and medium strategy, paid acquisition tactics and execution, high quality lead lists creation, and supporting sales teams to help them streamline processes and ultimately make more sales.
I also build computers for office use, budget gaming, high end gaming, and high end desktop computers for content creators such as video, photo, and visual effects editors.
In addition, I freelance videography and photography projects, such as sporting events, birthday parties, and professional photos with your dogs.
You can also browse my personal blog, or browse some of the books I’ve been reading.
On my down time, I am always exploring and learning.
What I’m doing right now
I built a home studio for video production in April 2018 and I’ve recently (mid-2019) started using it significantly more to create YouTube videos. I’ve been creating a lot of videos about technology, especially computer hardware, and I’ve been really enjoying content creation. It has been fun making videos about something you love.
Outside of work, I’ve been building high end desktop computers for content creators and I’ve been enjoying that learning process of understanding that market.
I finished migrating my server from FreeNAS to unRaid and I’ve been very pleased with the results. I’m currently running 26TB parity protected, which is similar to the Reed-Solomon erasure coding that Backblaze uses to split data into 17 data shards and 3 parity shards. Another advantage of unRaid is SSD caching, so I have 512GB in Raid 1 cache, which is great if I ever want to edit video directly from my server. I have Plex and Syncthing running in a Docker container. I’m using Syncthing to keep everything on my desktop in sync with a version on my server. I also have a share setup so that I can offload my raw video clips onto my server because I’m beginning to run out of SSD storage on my desktop.
My main focus is building computers and YouTube videos right now. In what’s left of my time, I’m working my way through a fairly comprehensive beginners course for Python. I’ve written basic scripts in the past, and I have a basic understanding of programming, but I’ve never dedicated enough time to it. I view Python as one of the best languages to learn because it does an okay job at just about everything, and I’m not alone in this opinion (see top comment).
